-------------

We are developing fun applications that stimulate and inspire children to learn and practice math both at home and at school.

This application encourages Third Grade children to practice the addition of two triple digit (0-999) numbers (with carrying), the subtraction of two triple digit (0-999) numbers (with borrowing, but without negative answers), the traditional multiplication table of (1-12) times (1-12), and the whole number division table of (1-144) divided by (1-12).

Children can gain confidence by doing practice problems with unlimited time, or they can build proficiency by selecting "Minute Math" to see how many problems they can answer with a time limit. The app defaults to 5 problems and 30 seconds, but these can be changed very easily.

Teachers are using the Kids Math Fun applications in their classrooms to reinforce math, addition, subtraction, and division concepts. Considering their comments, we added a “Double Dare” feature so children can expand their math skills by mastering the inverse relationship between addition and subtraction. A “Try Again” feature allows children to develop mastery by attempting a problem again if they get it wrong.

A new “Show Scores” button allows children and parents to see the high scores for all four regular and all four “Minute Math” activities.

A score board in the right hand corner, shows how many addition, subtraction, or division problems have been completed along with the totals for correct and wrong answers. Graphics include: Sports, Kids and Pets.

Total Practice Problems can be set between 5 and 100 problems, the Minute Math Timer can be set between 1/2 minute and 10 minutes, and High Scores can be cleared.

Please take a look at our other popular apps: Kids Math Fun K-5, Kids Time Fun, and Kids Coin Fun.

Pros and cons of Kids Math Fun — Third Grade app for iPhone and iPad

Kids Math Fun — Third Grade app good for

Good app works well. I had to remember how to multiply LOL. The addition and multiplication questions are tough for someone starting grade three. A piece of paper is needed as doing in your head is impossible. Offers the question and several answers pick the correct answer. Wish kids could work it out on the screen. Perhaps the ability to place numbers in the answer area which would make this a great app for out and about

I love this app! Its really helping my daughter, and she loves the positive reinforcement she gets from the game. I would suggest adding difficulty levels though.

Some bad moments

Got this for my daughter. Since its multiple choice, she can tell which is the right answer by multiplying just the last digit! The child should have to enter an answer.
I would say it is pretty useless for kids because there is no preference setting for adjusting the level of the tasks. No other options either, i.e. automatically going to the next equation after typing the answer. How about visual or audio feedback of "encouragement", I know this can be annoying, but this is for kids and it needs something to keeps them interested. I wish there had been a demo mode first so havent wasted my money on that
The authors third grader must be a lot smarter than my third grader. You cannot change the difficulty which makes this a total waste for my child. I should have just burned the 2 dollars.
Big ad banner at top. My 8 year old doesnt need to see ads for Jon Stewart. Dont buy. 
